Ranjani is a health-data and health-AI leader with a 25-year career spanning executive roles, entrepreneurship, and clinical research. Educated as both an MD and a software engineer, she has spent the past decade at the intersection of technology, data, and medicine in the commercial sector. Currently, she serves as Vice President at Global Health Labs, a non-profit dedicated to driving innovation in devices and tools for advancing primary care in low and middle-income countries.
Ranjani has overseen the entire lifecycle of health data, from diverse dataset aggregation (including biobanking, genomics, clinical, voice, social determinants of health, and device data) to its ethical and responsible use in customer-facing applications. She has led teams in developing and deploying cloud-native healthcare products for providers, researchers, and patients, guiding projects from inception through enterprise-level deployments.
At Microsoft Healthcare, Ranjani founded and led the team behind the first Microsoft co-pilot for physicians, using state-of-the-art conversational speech recognition and natural language processing to streamline clinician note creation.
After an initial career in computer science, Ranjani earned an MD at the University of Washington. She was also a clinical researcher at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and a data and technology strategy consultant for Kaiser’s Health Research Institute, advising on data de-identification and technology for Alzheimer's research.
Ranjani remains actively involved in advising startups, venture capital firms, and non-profits specializing in health-data and health-AI. Her advisory roles include the Meshinchi lab at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and the Indian Cancer Genome Atlas, a non-profit establishing a genomics data consortium for cancer research in India. Committed to advancing research in pediatric blood cancers, she sits on the Board of Trustees of the PNW chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America.
