Aparna Kamath is a Portfolio Manager with Grand Challenges Canada’s Global Health Innovation team, where she leads the Maternal and Newborn Health innovations portfolio.

Prior to Grand Challenges Canada, Aparna was with the Clinton Health Access Initiative where she was responsible for a portfolio of programs with governments across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, designing and implementing health financing and health systems reforms towards improving access to primary health care for vulnerable populations. Before that, at the Results for Development Institute, Aparna provided strategic and technical guidance on delivering a total market approach to social franchise networks for sexual and reproductive health services in East Africa. Aparna brings extensive experience designing programs for impact and scale through collaborative public-private approaches from her time living and working across Eastern and Southern Africa.

Aparna holds a Master’s degree in Global Health and Population from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and International Relations from Smith College.
