Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School; Rice360 Graduate
Dr. Jane Jarjour attended Rice University (Hanszen ’14) and received her bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with a minor in Global Health Technologies. She received her medical doctor degree from Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) with “Care of the Underserved” and “Global Health” concentrations. She also completed her Diploma of Tropical Medicine at the BCM National School of Tropical Medicine and went on to receive a Certificate of Tropical Medicine and Traveler’s Health® from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Dr. Jarjour completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Colorado and Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Denver. After residency, she worked as an urgent care pediatrician at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. With a passion for helping sick and injured children, she is currently completing a 3-year fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts.
Dr. Jarjour’s clinical interests include point-of-care ultrasound, global infectious diseases, and medical education. She is studying the use of bedside lung ultrasound to improve the diagnostic accuracy of pneumonia in children in the emergency department. She is an active member of the Margaret C. Ryan Global Health Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, the Children in Crisis Program, and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. She is engaged in partnerships with local stakeholders to strengthen trauma and emergency care programs and provide medical training and education with the goal of enhancing the humanitarian care of children and youth worldwide.
