Brandi Buss, RN, is the Director of Maternal Health Strategies at the Child Poverty Action Lab (CPAL), where she supports strategy across a portfolio of maternal health initiatives, including the North Texas Maternal Health Accelerator, TeamBirth, Trust Her and doula partnerships. Her career in maternal and infant health spans neonatal intensive care, high-risk obstetrics and healthcare strategy. Brandi co-led the development of high-risk OB RN navigation within an existing hospital program, a model later adopted by hospitals nationwide. She also led the expansion of a universal nurse home visiting program, extending services from pregnancy through one year postpartum and growing reach from six to 11 North Texas counties. As a member of the Accelerator’s leadership team, she leads health system relationships and implementation of Integrated Practice Units, which coordinate clinical and community-based strategies to address complex needs such as hypertension, barriers to care and postpartum depression. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University.
