Dr. Shreya Raghavan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University. She is also a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. Dr. Raghavan earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Wake Forest University/Virginia Tech and was an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan. The Raghavan lab engineers mechanically competent microenvironments to advance our understanding of cancer and women’s health. Her approaches integrate mechanobiology, biomaterials and microenvironment engineering. Her work is funded by the NIH/NCI through an R37 MERIT award, the NSF CAREER Award, the Department of Defense, and the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. She is an award winning scientist, recognized by the Rita Schaffer Young Investigator Award, CMBE Young Innovator Award and CMBE Rising Star Award from the Biomedical Engineering Society. 

In the biomedical engineering classroom, Dr. Raghavan is recognized for her excellence in teaching by the Montague Scholars Award and the Provost’s Innovative Teaching Fellowship from Texas A&M University.  Dedicated to broadening participation in STEM, Dr. Raghavan serves the Society for Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering Society in several roles.
